The Secretary General of CCOO, Ignacio Fernández Toxo, has been estimated at more than 450,000 jobs that could be saved if applied in Spain called "German model" of the division of labor, which already exists in Spanish law, but does not apply .
This model, proposed by the Government CCOO, passes to reconcile the reduction of working hours with unemployment benefits, which in Germany has prevented "not less" than 450,000 jobs, according to Toxo.
Before presiding over a meeting of delegates of CCOO of Seville, Toxo said at a news conference that the government is that which "should take the initiative" to apply this model because "there would be no difficulty" that they reached an agreement with the UGT to develop it.
The Government has now opened the course in Parliament to implement it "fast", stressed Toxo, citing Efe who spoke by telephone with the Economy Minister Elena Salgado, and she said that "it looks good ".
In Spain this figure but not used "because it is easier not to renew the temporary contracts to make the effort to organize the work differently in business," stressed Toxo.
The union leader said that this measure, which "has great potential and we must look with great love" require a "set" and "increased competition on collective bargaining to have the effectiveness" of Germany.
Regarding the so-called "Swiss model", which consists of dividing all business hours in a year depending on the demand for activity, Toxo has said that such an agreement already reached with Spanish shipyard in 1995.
For application would be necessary as "counterpart" there was widespread "the intervention of representatives of workers in the organization of work" as Toxo.
