Minister of Labour and Immigration, Celestino Corbacho, has admitted that the Government's intention is to move towards a more labor system based on active employment policies and therefore penalize the unemployed who do not make training or reject offers employment with the withdrawal of the benefit.

"In the event that the requirements are not met, ie not accept a training course, do not want to participate in work schedules or reject bids Public Employment Service, may indeed be subject to withdrawal of the benefit, "said Corbacho in the press conference after the Council of Ministers.

Corbacho said that current law already provides a range of sanctions for the beneficiaries of those services who refuse to meet requirements, although the Government believes that we must move towards a greater weight of active employment policies in the labor market functioning .

In fact, the socialist group has tabled an amendment to the labor reform on its way through the Senate requiring the unemployed to attend courses or motivational activities and job placement from the first day that the delivery charge if you do not want to be punished .

This amendment, which calls for the loss of benefits if the unemployed person rejects these actions during the first three months, has not liked anything to the unions, who understand that improving the employability of the unemployed bypasses punish them, but by increasing investment in active employment policies to suit the needs of the labor market.
